Description

The Apprenticeship Field Officers Unit (AFS Unit) of the VRQA is responsible for monitoring employers' obligations to their apprentices and trainees.

This includes administering the VRQA's Regulatory Field Services (RFS) function. The function includes deploying Authorised Officers into the field to investigate and confirm that employers, apprentices and trainees are meeting their training contract obligations in accordance with the

  • Education and Training Reform Act 2006_. The function uses a riskbased methodology and conducts telephone contacts with apprentices and trainees in the reporting to determine if sufficient progress is being made and what, if any, issues could be resolved with further assistance or intervention.
The role of Apprenticeship Field Services - Risk Assessment Contact Officer reports to the Program Manager, Compliance and Investigations.

In this role, you will support the VRQA's regulation of apprenticeships and traineeships in Victoria, in accordance with the ETR Act and Training Contract obligations.


This includes:

  • Make and receive telephone calls, in accordance with agreed KPIs, for the purposes of conducting risk assessments in relation to apprenticeships and traineeships.
  • Maintain, enter and retrieve data using multiple systems to report on potential noncompliance in relation to apprenticeships and traineeships.
  • Escalate identified potential noncompliance to authorised officers, senior investigators and management.
  • Assist in the development of reports through the collation of data.
  • Assist in the development and review of manuals and procedures.
  • Undertake accurate and timely records management
