What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Business Support Officer.


The Business Support Officer (BSO) is responsible for assisting the Strategic Communications and Governance team with a range of administration support duties and have a strong focus on reporting, compliance, stakeholder collaboration and alignment of the business objectives of the AFP.

Working closely with the team leader, business analyst and project managers, the BSO will play a vital role in organising the team.


You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

The main responsibilities in this role would include but not be limited to;
Providing support to the team leader and project managers in relation to reporting and governance
Update and maintain records and spreadsheets, ensuring date accuracy and relevance
Assist with financial reporting requirements for the portfolio
Maintain stakeholder engagement and strong communication through scheduled meetings
Procurement and Contracts relevant to telecommunication and projects
Asset Management
Manage the teams files, inbox and reporting.
Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a like or related field.
Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
Additional Information

This position has been advertised in all major capital cities.

Although the position is generally based in Canberra, opportunities to work remotely from another AFP office in Australia will be considered.
