JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


The purpose of the
Greystone
Student Support Trainer role is to provide dedicated on-campus student support in the form of supervised and guided self-access.

In addition, the role will support academic management with a range of administrative tasks such as marking, student completions, assessment moderation, student progress meetings, faculty support and other tasks that support Greystones national delivery alignment and student experience initiatives.

It is envisaged that these roles at each campus will form part of the core Greystone faculty team, providing leadership and demonstration of our core values and missions within our wider community.

The
Greystone
Student Support Trainer is a Full-Time position which operates on campus, 1pm to 9pm Monday - Friday. These hours may be adjusted to reflect the changes in delivery and student demand.

Reporting to the Senior National Assistant Director of Training, the
Greystone Student Support Trainer will provide support to the faculty and academic management team in managing our day-to-day operations as per the key and general duties mentioned below.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


  • Running Student Self Access on site
  • Supporting students at risk through the management of our Academic Intervention Strategy nationally though
  • Running Academic Progress meetings for students
  • Following up key student concerns
  • Reviewing student support plans and documentation
  • Administration of VSAR registers with National Quality Assurance
  • Adhoc student support as required
  • Managing student support sessions during term break (Bootcamp)
  • Marking overflow assessments from a range of qualifications
  • Conducting Quality Assurance checks on attendance, assessments, and more
  • Completing nationally aligned Assessment Essentials content for a range of qualifications
  • Driving completion rate growth in our students through:
  • Contacting students who have incomplete assessment tasks
  • Booking students in for academic support
  • Supporting students through to qualification completion
  • Providing exceptional student support
  • Daily communication and collaboration with the academic management team
  • Assisting casual trainers with presessional support and guidance to achieve national delivery alignment
  • Running on campus orientations and other Greystone related campus activities/initiatives
  • Providing support for Student Advisors, VET Administration teams and Sales and Marketing teams in assisting student queries on campus
  • Participation in assessment moderation processes

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


  • Collecting and relaying feedback on assessments and materials
  • Supporting opportunities for professional development of training staff in collaboration with academic management team
  • Assisting the department with networking events, marketing events and student experiences
  • Supporting strategic initiatives designed to improve the student engagement and experience nationally such as our student Academic Excellence Awards and Graduation Ceremonies
  • General support and administration for the department as required
  • Collecting media of our VET programs for distribution on social media and our wider community
  • Adhoc fillin for absent trainers as required.
  • Regular communication and collaboration with the academic management team
  • Contribute to Work Health and Safety identification and participation in committees when requested ensuring a safe and supported work environment.
  • On occasion, participating and contributing to development of National VET programs through attendance at National VET meetings, and global continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Senior National Director of Training and academic management team to identify, develop and implement key organisational culture, engagement and change initiatives and strategies.
  • Working collaboratively and cohesively with National VET Administration, and other departments as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Training and Assessment
  • Post graduate qualification in Business, Education or Management
  • Current Working with Children authority

  • Deliver exceptional support for students, trainers and academic management teams.
  • Ensure that all facetoface on campus support classes are supported, including fill in student selfaccess as required
  • Exceptional project management, organisational and administrative skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
