About the Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager to join us at our Canberra manufacturing site. Leading a small maintenance team this role will participate and lead the maintenance strategy drive the maintenance program onsite.


Key deliverables:


  • Be the driving key member in continuous improvement in plant reliability, availability & maintenance systems in general.
  • Participate & lead maintenance strategy development & continuous improvement of maintenance processes & systems
  • Manage/ oversee capital spending projects from design through to installation for plant equipment and maintenance
  • Manage maintenance projects and daily processes to budgeted levels
  • Coordinate special projects for Engineering
  • Oversee capital spending and expense projects related to an assigned area
  • Project and capital tracking (GANT chart etc)
  • Reports completed in relation to projects
  • Monitor maintenance activities at assigned plant & provide direction to embed national directives
  • Support site objectives in process control, project management, improvements to reliability & waste controls.
  • Cost Control, ensuring that budgets are met on R&M, wages and overtime and projects.
  • Lead and mentor team to achieve success

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Engineering Qualification
  • Mechanical/ Electrical
  • Knowledge of commercial highspeed bakery equipment
  • Proven ability establishing and implementing equipment preventative maintenance programs
  • Understanding of baking ovens, conveying systems, robotics, PLC's (programmable logic controls), mixers, blender, packaging equipment and other specialised baking plant equipment
  • Use and repair of facility and equipment electrical systems, mechanical systems, heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, overheads and structures
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and equipment schematics
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and systems to make timely corrections
  • Personal computer skills literate in MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD and PC Logic
  • Ability to support a factory & a team in a continuous manufacturing environment.
