We are in the market for a self-motivated and experienced individual to join our City Parks Natural Areas team.

You are passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge by providing efficient and effective general bushland maintenance tasks and monitoring within the City's bushland, estuary, and coastal reserves.

What impact will you make?

  • You are friendly, supportive and actively listen to the needs of others.
  • You enjoy working with people, can build strong relationships.
  • You assist with the assessment and monitoring activities with reserves, and are open to the opinions of others, and implement management plans for high priority natural areas.
  • You operate tools and spray equipment in a professional and safe manner and are able to identify and control weeds in the natural area.
  • You contribute to the team in providing natural area maintenance tasks including:
  • General litter collection;
  • Fence installation and repair; and
  • Assisting with native species planting, tree guarding, watering and seed collection and processing.
  • You ensure the proper operation and security of materials, plant and equipment.
  • You undertake daily regular maintenance and safety inspections of tools and machinery.
  • You are skilled in traffic management.

What can you bring to the team?

  • Certificate III and/or Cert IV in Conservation and Land Management OR Five (5) years on ground experience in conservation and land management
  • Current unrestricted MR or HR class national drivers' licence
  • Sound native plant knowledge and identification
  • Experience in natural area maintenance and rehabilitation including construction, assessment and monitoring
  • Current Certificate in Basic Worksite Traffic Management
  • Current White Card
  • Chainsaw Ticket
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices.
