Position Information


Hunters Hill High School is a comprehensive co-educational high school located beside Sydney Harbour in a bushland setting overlooking the Lane Cove River.

The school is presently in a growth phase and will have 770 students enrolled in 2023 including a number of International Students in Years The school has a young executive team and a high proportion of staff in their first three years of teaching.


Over the next three years the school has a strong focus on whole school teaching and learning programs that specifically improve student literacy and numeracy, as well as creative and critical thinking skills, aimed at high value added for years 10 to 12.

In addition, there will be a focus on building the capacity of teachers to deliver future-focused pedagogy particularly around creating higher order thinking experiences to support the already introduced ALARM and transformative learning approaches.

Hunters Hill High School is strongly supported by an active P and C.

The school has a proud history of success, particularly in the performing Arts, and is excited to build further on these successes with a young vibrant staff.


Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach stage 6 Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Science.

Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work as a collaborative member of the Science faculty and broader school community


Proven ability to participate in the development and implementation of units of learning, embedding a variety of assessments and adapting pedagogy to provide engaging lessons that build higher order thinking skills.


Highly developed classroom management skills to establish effective routines, high expectations and provide a challenging learning environment that support the wellbeing and learning of students.
