The Lucas Group have partnered with an established farm operation in South Australia to find a Farm Overseer to lead their property into the future.


An Overview of Your New Role:

Spearheading the execution of the annual farm plan, the Farm Overseer wears many hats—from managing the daily operations of the Merino and crossbred sheep flock to setting the bar for maintaining and improving the farm's infrastructure.


Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:


  • Implementing and planning immediate and longterm livestock and pasture management strategies.
  • Overseeing daytoday farming operations, including livestock management and pasture/crop management activities.
  • Mobilising the workforce and the contractors—inspiring and directing to achieve highquality results.
  • Fostering and maintaining a close working relationship with the management team and family board.

What You'll Need to Succeed:


  • Proven experience in farm management, livestock production, and pasture and crop management.
  • Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of farm machinery, such as tractors and frontend loaders.
  • Exceptional skills in workforce and contractor management.
  • Practical knowledge of sustainable agriculture and land care.
  • Familiarity with farm production software, eID and Excel for analysing farm output
  • A team of trained working dogs.
  • Experience with windmills & solar pumps.
  • Experience with heavy equipment (including frontend loader and bulldozer).
  • HR driver's license and chemical user accreditation.

You will be remunerated generously, aligned with your skills and experience.

The final package will include an on-farm 4-bedroom house with a shed and kennels, a ute to use on-farm and locally, mobile phone and internet.
