Directions Disability Support Services
Directions Disability Support Services has provided personalised and individually tailored support to people
with a disability and their families for overyears and has developed a strong reputation for high quality
relationship-based services throughout Perth.

Service delivery areas include therapy, individualised supports, groups and host families. The Directions
therapy service provision includes, but is not limited to, direct therapy, groups (therapeutic and social),
positive behavioural support, assistive technology and equipment, home modifications, specialist support
coordination, dysphagia assessment and intervention, psychological therapies, counselling, consultation,
training, education and advocacy.

Position Overview
This is a dynamic role that creates innovative solutions (both technical and behavioural) for people with
disability and their families; supports the Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists,
Positive Behavioural Support Therapist, student Therapists, Coordinators and Support Workers to provide
the very best in person centred, relationship-based care and support; in best practice disability services.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable, timely and flexible services that best meet the needs of the people we support and
their families;

  • Provide support to Therapy Team in delivering:training and education to build capacity within the
Support Workers and Coordinators;

  • Provide administrative support to Therapy Team and other staff in writing management plans and
creating therapy tools;

  • Provide administrative support to team in use of CRM system Visicase as well as other ICT
  • Deliver:or group activities based on strengthbased approach, engaging, meaningful and
purposeful to the person or the group of people we support;

  • Liaise with all stakeholders and team members to ensure the provision of integrated, creative,
inclusive and holistic services;

  • Attend to the physical and material wellbeing and safety of people, while encouraging
independence;

  • Respect the personal preferences of people in meeting their needs, while encouraging growth and
development;

  • Support and enhance people's social and developmental opportunities through options of their
choosing;

  • Provide support and encouragement to people to develop skills and participate in the community in
an inclusive way.
