The Role

This role leads the Victorian Skills Authority's (VSA's) industry engagement strategy, builds effective and collaborative industry stakeholder relationships, and manages high quality delivery of the VSA's industry engagement mechanisms, including its industry advisory groups.

Reporting to the Director, Engagement, the postholder is also responsible for leading a small, high performing team and ensuring the unit's work connects with other VSA functions and industry engagement within and across the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) and other government departments.

This is a strategic role, requiring excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills
The position has the following key accountabilities but not limited to:

  • This role leads the VSA's industry engagement strategy, and is responsible for building effective industry stakeholder relationships, and managing high quality delivery of the VSA's industry engagement mechanisms including its industry advisory groups.
  • The postholder is also responsible for leading and coaching a small, high performing team and ensuring the unit's work connects with other VSA functions and other industry portfolios and engagement functions within and across DJSIR and government
The Team
The position of Manager, Industry Engagement forms a part of the Engagement branch in the Victorian Skills Authority group.

The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) is an Administrative Office in the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) reporting directly to the Minister for Training and Skills and the Secretary.

The VSA is responsible for generating data insights, developing place-based solutions for local problems, promoting quality improvement, and identifying skills and workforce development to achieve job outcomes that strengthen the Victorian economy.
