  • September 06, :15Located in Newcastle, our client is seeking a full
  • time Finance Officer for their K
  • 12 School to join their team of dedicated professionals. Positioned within the Business Services and Finance team, the Finance Officer is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the school's purchasing and payables policies and associated management information systems & practices.

Key duties include:

Manage all payments and expenditures invoices each week)- Implement and maintain modern, efficient, and effective purchasing workflows.- Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.- Maintaining security and conciseness of Supplier details suppliers)- Paying vendors by scheduled payment and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit.- Seek and realise payment incentives where practical and beneficial to the school.- Preparing analysis of events/accounts and producing monthly reports on request.- Additionally, this role will also provide support in property and asset administration.

This role is ideally suited to someone who has the ability to:


Work well within a team or autonomously- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders;- Display integrity, loyalty and commitment to maintaining the utmost confidentiality and meeting privacy requirements;- Understands the importance of ongoing development and takes ownership of development goals;- Alignment to the School RISE values and our mission of providing an outstanding education to our students; andCertificate III in Business or similar;- A valid Working with Children's Check.- At least 3 years' experience in a similar position, with a strong background in purchasing and accounts payable;- A strong degree of computer literacy, competent with Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, Word, Outlook and accounting systems (MYOB/Xero/Internal System); and- Ongoing competency and agility to adapt and potentially implement new systems and workflows.
