Talent International is currently recruiting for a
Communications Officer to work for an
NSW Government client based in
Leichhardt.

This is contract role
2-months contract with the view to be extended. The role is paying between
$55 - $63/hour + Super.



Description:


  • Provide strategic communications to program and other managers across the organisation to ensure all communications achieve objectives.
  • There is also event management as part of role.

Primary purpose of the role:


Develop and implement internal and external marketing and communications plans and activities to support achievement of client's priorities and program objectives and uphold client's reputation among key stakeholders.

Key accountabilities:
  • Develop communications and engagement plans to support program objectives, initiative and projects.
  • Create, edit and proof content for a range of internal and external communication channels to ensure accurate and integrated key messaging.
  • Provide strategic communications advice to program and other managers across the organisation to ensure all communications achieve objectives.
  • Measure, evaluate and report the effectiveness of communications and channels through feedback loops built into all communications plans and activities.
  • Contribute to the effective management and scheduling of communications by contributing to the Media and Communications calendar and ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure customer communications are in plain English, meet customer needs and align with all NSW Government and organisations brand guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve communications capability and provide timely communications advice to relevant stakeholders.
  • Undertake research and analysis, using best practice methodologies to support and deliver evidencebased communications.

Essential requirements:


  • It is the responsibility of all staff to ensure the client is a workplace free from bullying and harassment. All staff must behave in a respectful and acceptable manner. Staff must report and respond appropriately to any instances or perceptions of bullying.
  • Managers are required to implement actions that prevent or minimise the risk of unacceptable behaviours, ensuring bullying, harassment and victimisation are identified as early as possible and responded to and effectively managed.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.

Key knowledge and experience:


  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative communication and marketing strategies that drive engagement and build brand awareness and reputation.
  • Highlevel written and oral communications skills with the ability to write compelling information that achieves objectives and reinforces key messaging.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues within the team, department, directorate and broader organisation.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills, the ability to monitor and measure performance of campaigns and other communications and to use this information to drive continuous improvement.
  • Tertiary qualifications in internal and external communications, public relations, journalism or marketing combined with relevant experience gained in a complex organisation and an understanding of the machinery of Government.
  • Positive, 'cando' attitude with a willingness to contribute to the overall goals of client's Chief Executive Office Directorate.
