About the Role

The BOQ Finance Credit Risk team are looking to add a dynamic and passionate Credit Analyst to it's well established function.

Reporting into the Team Leader, you'll be responsible for managing credit risk on small ticket consumer transactions for BOQ Finance whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships with the dealer networks.

You will also be responsible for ensuring BOQ's credit policy is maintained through:

  • Exercising a DAA (timing and amount to be determined) within company policy, procedure and all generally accepted concepts of sound prudential lending theory
  • Preparing/recommending submissions to the relevant Credit Risk Officer for transactions above own personal DAA
  • Exercising a Delegated Approval Authority for transaction analysis, recommendation and approval
  • Identifying and providing solutions within credit policy/procedures
  • Undertaking credit administration duties including maintaining active communication networks and liaison with all relevant parties
  • Performing credit approvals utilising predictive scoring models
  • Engaging and participating in credit process improvement initiatives to meet key operational business needs of acceptable turnaround times and high productivity whilst maintaining business controls within appropriate credit standards
  • Undertaking and completing tasks/projects assigned by the Retail Credit Manager which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the credit team
  • Explaining credit decisions to Sales Staff and training them on the acceptance criteria
  • Supporting extended hours/shifts as required. Will be required to work weekend roster.
  • Maintaining appropriate credit files and statistics for management reporting and audit purposes
  • Providing phone support to the dealership network regarding credit decisions

About you

This position is suited to an individual with:

  • Demonstrated consumer and commercial lending analysis/interpretation skills and consistent sound judgement
  • especially working under commercial pressure from internal/external stakeholders
  • In depth knowledge of contract policy procedures and legal compliance
- related issues

  • Awareness of the indicators of financial distress, potential loss and fraud
  • Uptodate knowledge of all relevant lending related legislation
  • Proven influencing, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills including ability to develop enduring relationships with diverse internal and external parties (e.g. dealer network)
  • A high level of personal initiative, ability to work autonomously and strong results orientation
  • Well disciplined with highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • Relevant experience within the financial services industry, particularly in any field requiring a consistent and reliable 'eye for detail' under pressure of a high volume, compliance orientated discipline.
