The Role

  • This role is responsible for the delivery of 1st Line Risk support for People & Culture, with a specific focus on Payroll governance as well as support delivery and management of regulatory change deliverables such as Financial Accountability Regime (FAR). This role will guide, advise and coach stakeholders and managers to make informed and pragmatic business decisions around risk and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate operational compliance through adherence to quality, governance and control frameworks.
  • Support auditors and ensure delivery of all internal and external audit requirements including processes, data provision and testing requirements as requested.
  • Work proactively with business partners to ensure adherence to best practice processes and assist in delivery of training tools in conjunction with the leaders to drive compliance and risk management in teams (payroll focus).
  • Identify and lead delivery of continuous system and process improvements.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A relevant tertiary or post graduate degree in Human Resources or Business discipline
  • Demonstrated experience advising stakeholders within an ASX listed and APRA regulated entities.
  • Proven capabilities positively working with and coaching, leaders and executives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of endtoend payroll processes (including recommending regular system reviews and governance).
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting complex industrial instruments including Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience leading data analysis and system reviews to inform governance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal, with a strong customer focus and attention to detail.
  • In depth understanding of payroll legislation including income tax, payroll tax, workers comp and superannuation.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Tools, including Excel and analytical tools and SAP payroll systems highly regarded but not essential.
