Planning with several software development teams is a part of the release manager's duty. You will govern and manage schedules to satisfy interdependencies.

Your primary aim is to enable continuous delivery of a solution in the hands of the customers as soon as possible and ensure quality benchmarks are met.

This is a greenfield DevSecOps development to modernise the Navy's EW capabilities.

The software development will be executed using SAFe.

This critical role will see you working closely with various Scrum teams that will depend on the output of the CI/CD pipeline into various environments.

The
Release Manager** can look forward to the following essential elements in this exciting role:

  • Managing risks and resolving challenges that impact release scope, quality, and schedules.
  • Planning release windows and cycles across portfolios.
  • Managing relationships working on interrelated processes.
  • Communicating crucial release plans and changes.
  • Measuring and monitoring progress to achieve a timely software release within defined quality standards.
  • Communicating necessary release details to stakeholders and customers.
  • Initiating and overseeing progressive release processes.
  • Coordinating release content and efforts based on OS updates and thirdparty apps.
  • Conducting release readiness and milestone reviews.
  • Working with Scrum teams to comprehend code merges and branch ramifications.
  • Leading and coordinating checklist and deployment plan execution.
  • Contributing to the development of automation and release management tools along with scripts necessary for the construction, continuous integration, and deployment of software release.
  • Researching new software development and the best methods and techniques for managing configurations.
  • Deployment management of deliverables to the lab, test, stage and production environments.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • STEM qualification is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in supporting software development and operations is essential
  • Minimum 2 years' experience using, improving, and developing CI/CD pipelines is essential, including using project or release management tools
  • Programming skills and experience desirable
  • Ability to handle software infrastructure management & configuration management is desirable
  • An expert understanding of software development lifecycle is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Excellent analytical skills are essential
  • Structured thinking is essential
  • Experience in coordinating crossfunctional work teams up to task completion is desirable
  • Experience in a Defence related industry is desirable
