VicHealth is the world's first health promotion foundation.

Established by the Victorian Parliament in 1987, we were the first agency of our kind worldwide to utilise a hypothecated tax on tobacco to support independent, long-term, evidence-based health promotion practice, partnerships and leadership.

We continue to be a global leader in health promotion, as a Collaborating Centre with the World Health Organization and as a technical partner to UNICEF.

Through world-class research, our work with, through, and for communities, and our strategic partnerships at all levels of government in Australia, we aim to build and use VicHealth's influence, independence, relationships, voice and expertise to reshape the systems that improve health and wellbeing for all Victorians.

Our work in these systems is in the context of increasing health inequity, and VicHealth's approach reflects three dimensions:
climate justice, community agency, and intergenerational wellbeing.

One of these core systems is the neighbourhood and built system, and VicHealth is now seeking a passionate and experienced
Manager, Neighbourhood and Built Systems (NBS) to join our dynamic team and play a key role in promoting health equity and well-being in Victorian communities.

You will lead initiatives that encourage and enable increased physical activity, improve social, emotional, physical, and mental health and address systemic factors such as discrimination and racism in the environments where Victorians live, work and play.

In this role, you will lead our newly formed Neighbourhood and Built Systems team that focusses on how infrastructure, buildings, spaces, and transportation systems are designed and accessed, and can be used to promote health equity and well-being in the community.

You'll thrive in this integral management level opportunity by fully utilising your organisational, prioritisation and time management skills to manage in a busy and challenging environment.

VicHealth is committed to ensuring appointments represent the diversity of our community. Women, Indigenous people, people with disability, young people, LGBTIQ+ people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
