The Next Generation Graduates Program will fund national scholarships to attract and train the next generation of artificial intelligence and emerging technology specialists.

Through the Program, the Australian Government aims to address top-end talent shortages under two streams - Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies.


The Program will work with universities and industry to co-fund scholarships for Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Levels 8 (Honours) to 10 (Doctoral) using a work-integrated learning approach.

Students will participate in industry-led research projects and/or placements to build job-ready skills and provide short-term access to high-end talent for business in addition to completing a formal qualification relevant to AI.


Data61 is acting as a convener for the Program, bringing students together through foundational coursework relevant to students undertaking research in AI and Emerging Technologies.

The coursework will build cohorts of students from multi-disciplinary backgrounds through peer-to-peer learning and networking. The Program is being delivered in partnership with universities and industry partners.


The Learning and Student Experience Lead will join the Next Generation Graduates Program team in CSIRO's Data61 having the opportunity to support the development and implementation of a suite of future critical capabilities.


Your duties will include:


  • Your role involves the management, leadership and strategic direction of the Next Generation Graduates Program Coursework. This includes design, development, and implementation of comprehensive learning strategies that align with the program's vision and goals.
  • Plan, design, deliver (with experts) and evaluate Next Generation Graduates Program Coursework, online courses content and training resources.
  • Based on the content developed, review, refine the coursework content, ensuring they meet rigorous educational standards and effectively foster student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders (Academics, students, industry, government etc) to scope, design and deliver creative, innovative and highly interactive learning solutions experience that meet the needs of the students and the goals of the Program
  • Utilise data, trends and metrics to inform pedagogies, program delivery modification, ongoing evaluation of learning outcomes and ongoing support for students.

Location:
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane preferred. Adelaide and Canberra Considered.


Salary:
AU$121,455 to AU$142,321 pa + up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • University level qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or similar and/or equivalent experience in developing or delivering comparable online courses.
  • Familiarity with (or ability to learn) topics covered in the Next Generation Graduates Program:
  • Data Centric Engineering,
  • Ethics, Innovation and User centred Design,
  • Probabilistic Machine Learning,
  • Deep Learning
  • Quantum Technologies
  • Experience in course delivery and pedagogies (e.g., online and blended learning) in a higher education context.
  • Demonstrated ability to creative and innovative content based on instructional design principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student experiences related to knowledge and skills acquisition, learning engagement, learning resources and other related activities.
  • Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to cultivate effective working relationships and work closely with stakeholders to build new and refine existing learning materials.
