Role Details
***The Service Operations Manager is a role within DHS Disability Services and is accountable to the Manager, Quality & Service Operations for:
  • Initiating and leading the development and implementation of quality client services and systems for existing and new DHS Disability Services clients
- providing operational advice, managing, and monitoring operational performance and business systems, strategies, resources and programs that support the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services to meet organisational standards and targets
- using professional knowledge and experience to facilitate strategic and operational leadership, governance, supervision, and direction to a multi-disciplinary team.
- providing clinical supervision to allied health professionals as required
- developing and maintaining collaborative relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals and improve service provisions and support to people living with disability, their families and community.

Key outcomes and accountabilities

  • Contribute to strategic leadership and business planning across DHS Disability Services to meet organisational goals and strategic objectives while complying with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Quality Indicators and other legislative and industry requirements.
  • Plan, monitor and report on the performance of the Service Operations Team in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, State Strategic Plan, DHS' strategic agenda, and the DHS Disability Services Business Plan.
  • Provide effective and professional leadership and management of divisional level projects in the areas of service delivery and support planning, information analysis, including risk analysis, strategy development and costing.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, performance management and effective deployment of staff across a multi-discipline team in accordance with departmental and public sector requirements.
  • Establish, evaluate, and maintain professional best practice standards in relation to service delivery and team activities, contributing to the professional knowledge of the team and ensuring team members have access to professional supervision where required.
  • Implement and monitor records management strategies and operations to comply with the State Records Act 1997 and DHS records management requirements.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload commensurate with management responsibilities.

Note:

Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department.

The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

  • Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
  • Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
  • Incumbent will be required to be up to date on their COVID19 vaccination status prior to engagement with DHS, unless it would be medically unsafe for employee to do so.

Essential Qualifications

An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Disability & Developmental Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Speech Pathology which entitles registration or full membership with the relevant allied health profession's board.

Occupational Therapists and Psychologists must have full registration with the relevant profession's board and maintain registration.

Disability Services provides valuable support to the South Australian community through supported independent living, Transition to Home, quality and clinical services, and the DHS Equipment Program.

As one of the largest providers, we supervise and help with everyday tasks to support people living with disability to live as independently as possible.

Our Transition to Home initiative facilitates the timely discharge of people with a disability from hospital into the community.


We also fund equipment and home modifications for South Australians who are otherwise unfunded for these services through Commonwealth options.

Equipment and home modifications, as well as the delivery, repair, maintenance and replacement of items, is funded by the DHS Equipment Program.
