3-month contract opportunity- Location: negotiable across the stunning North Coast region including Ballina, Tweed Heads, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, or Port Macquarie, Brisbane, and Gold Coast
- Pay: $ per hour
- Fulltime Monday to Friday (38 hrs per week), some remote work options
Roles of a Work Health and Safety Coordinator
- Coordinating and facilitating timely, expert WHS advice and assistance to managers/supervisors in managing WHS, this will also include the promotion of WHS across a facility or service.
- Analysing WHS data to monitor accident and incident trends and provide reports as necessary
- Monitor the response to and management of reported WHS risks/hazards and incidents and coordinate their subsequent investigation.
- Coordinate an annual audit of the WHS Management System to review and monitor compliance and subsequent action plans for noncompliance.
- Maintaining a professional and consultative relationship with elected HSR and WHS Sub-Committee members to coordinate WHS activities and monitor WHS related matters.
- Making sure that the organisation is aware of, and complies with, all WHS legislation.
- Coordinate training for workers as required on health and safety practices and legislation
- Prepare reports for the WHS Sub-Committee, ELT Audit and Risk Management Operational Committee and the Board Audit and Risk Management Committee.
- Developing and reviewing WHS Management System documentation including, policies, plans and procedures.
- Coordinate WHS emergency preparedness and planning and maintain the register for:
- Test and Tag
- emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, fire blankets, fire hose reels), emergency lighting and general office electrical equipment)
- Fire Training and Evacuation Drills
- First Aid Kit checks
- Office and Vehicle
- Duress Alarm Testing
- Check Annual Fire Safety Statements
- WHS Risk Management
- Monitor the management of risks on the WHS Risk register including implementation of treatment actions
- Coordinate the WHS office inspections
- Coordinate the annual floor slip testing
- Maintain the HRA WHS modules
- Coordinate WHS consultations
- Coordinate WHS Issue Management
- Coordinate the secretariat support for the WHS Sub-Committee
- Coordinate the annual review and implementation of the WHS Management Plan
Contractor Responsibilities
- Develop, review and revise WHS policy and procedure documents including but not limited to
- WHS Policy
- WHS Management System Framework,
- WHS Management System Audit Procedure
- WHS Management Review Procedure
- HRA Safety Module
- Familiarise themselves with the functionality of the software platform
- Develop business rules for use of software platform aligned to WHS Policies and Procedures
- Configure the software for implementation
- Coordinate the deployment of the software platform to end users
- Develop a suite of WHS KPI's to report system performance to the WHS Committee, Executive and HNC Board
- Undertake WHS training needs analysis and develop a WHS training plan
- Assist in the coordination of Emergency preparedness and planning activities
- Contribute to the review of the WHS Risk Register
- Assist in the management of reported hazards/risks and incidents
- Assist in the implementation of activities related to the WHS internal audit
