Our Journey:
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The General Services department at Kingston Hospital requires an Environmental Services Assistant to work across the Kingston site, who is customer service focused, enjoys working in a busy team environment and helping others to deliver an outstanding service.
Positions available:
Position 1
Environmental Services Assistant - Linen and Waste Run
Saturday - Wednesday 6.30am - 3.00pm
- (76 hours per fortnight + ADO)_
Position 2
Environmental Services Assistant
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6.30am - 2.30pm
Wednesday 6.30am - 3.00pm
- (76 hours per fortnight)_
Position 3:
- Environmental Services Assistant (Pool)_
- Varied roster over Monday
- Sunday _
- AM or PM shifts_
A day in the life:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Environmental cleaning
- Bathroom and toilet cleaning
- Cleaning in specialised areas
- Waste removal and linen transportation and manual handling
- Internal and external detailed cleaning
- Project and unscheduled adhoc cleaning
On a personal level:
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Holds a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Is able to work unsupervised but take direction
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Good availability across 7 days for AM and PM shifts
What you need:
- Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (Desirable)
- Previous experience cleaning in a healthcare environment (Desirable)
- An understanding of infection control cleaning processes within a healthcare environment
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service and cleaning in a healthcare environment
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- A "Can Do" attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
