Full-time max-term contract until 30th June 2025 (potential to be extended):

Based at our Dandenong/Narre Warren office + within the community + hybrid working arrangements

$41 - $45.5ph + 11% Super + Salary Packaging***As _Peer Worker_ you will provide recovery-orientated, evidence-based peer support interventions utilising your own lived experience of recovery in a mental health context to instil confidence and hope in others about their personal recovery journey.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, carers, and other community partner organisations in order to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to clients.
  • Engage with clients to develop trusting and professional relationships I order to identify their needs and support them to reach their recovery goals.
  • Providing opportunities to discuss problem solving strategies, reflecting on helpful and unhelpful behaviours.
  • Encouraging and supporting clients to access and remain engaged with their support services.
  • Engage with Recovery Specialists to assist and facilitate recovery/ social groups.

Qualifications:


An ability and willingness to share own experiences of recovery with others for the benefit of advancing their recovery, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, colleagues, stakeholders will be essential to the success of this role.


You will also have:

  • Lived experience of mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery.
  • Relevant mental health qualifications, with a minimum requirement of Certificate IV in Mental Health, and relevant experience in Mental Health
  • Current statebased driver's license
  • Experience of the public or private mental health system at a direct care level.
  • Understanding of harm minimisation approaches to the treatment and management of persons with a Dual Diagnosis (substance misuse and mental health issues)
