The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environment Lead (Assurance Programs and Improvement)

with relevant environmental and construction experience to join our Snowy 2.0 team, and be accountable for establishing and managing the implementation of the Snowy 2.0 environment assurance and audit programs.

You will act as a technical for site-based personnel and provide leadership and direction to construction and engineering teams about improvement activities and programs.

This role is a key liaison with contractor counterparties and external regulators regarding construction implementation. You will also


Further responsibilities include:

Conduct review of the assurance programs currently in place across the project to identify the value and improvement actions


Develop regular and accurate reporting of assurance metrics for internal dialogue with a focus on efficiency and opportunities to minimise duplication.

Collaborate with other technical specialists to develop and implement environmental dashboards (e.g. spoil, wastewater) and metrics

Develop and maintain external audit program

Linking back to audit findings and addressing actions back into ongoing assurance programs


We're looking for someone with:

Tertiary degree qualifications in Environmental Science or Engineering

At least 5 years of professional experience in various capacities

Construction experience and understanding of the complexities of executing site work.

Highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiating skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and influence team members and external contractors

The ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changing circumstances and demands in a measured and constructive way
