About the role:


This is a tremendous opportunity for an inspiring, strategic, people-focused leader to lead transformational change projects to support implementation of the learning and teaching strategy and enhance the quality provision of learning and teaching across all areas of Curtin.


Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic (DVC-Academic), this position will provide academic leadership to the Learning Innovation and Transformation area and will take a lead role to innovate, transform and quality assure learning and teaching at Curtin.

This covers all modes of learning and campuses, domestic and global, ensuring that the University remains sector-leading and competitive in a rapidly evolving landscape.


In addition, the role will oversee the development of curriculum in consultation with the faculties to ensure cutting edge innovation and contemporary practice, including ongoing development of exceptional educational offerings to our diverse student body across all delivery modes and leveraging and further enhancing existing partnerships.


Requirements for success in the role:

  • Demonstrated success in providing academic leadership and management of staff in a tertiary education setting with the ability to nurture and develop a high performing team and lead change in a complex working environment.
  • Experience of mixed models (hybrid) of educational provision and development and implementation of whole of institution strategies and/or projects.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, strategy development, critical analysis and quality management with the ability to proactively seek opportunities for the University in response to a changing external, legislative and commercial environment.
  • Proven track record in teaching and learning grants and peer reviewed publications
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive partnerships within a complex and diverse organisation, together with exceptional oral and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated financial management skills.
  • A proven record of contribution to academic and community life that is consistent with Curtin's values and goals.
