About the role:


Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will join an established WHS team who partner with the mining business and it's contracting partners, providing support, coaching and ongoing development to improve the safety performance and move the business closer to achieving Goal Zero.

As an experienced Injury Management and RTW Coordinator, you are responsible for the total management of the site's workers compensation and injury management practices.


Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate and manage the rehabilitation process for injured and ill workers in accordance with statutory and company obligations
  • Regularly liaise with medical professionals, and service providers to ensure site processes are complied with
  • Develop return to work management plans
  • Regularly communicate with the site's workers compensation provider regarding claims
  • Work closely with injured workers to provide support and information during rehabilitation and return to work periods.
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations
  • Maintain an accurate record keeping system
  • Be the site point of contact for all workers compensation and injury management matters.

About your experience:


Passionate about all things safety, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to influence and lead at all levels of business.

You have a pragmatic approach to injury management and will be able demonstrate how you have provided practical, fit for purpose solutions to business, whilst ensuring that legislative and business requirements are not compromised.


You also have:

  • Completed a returntowork coordinators course
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (desirable)
  • Previous experience in workers compensation claims and management
  • Have an understanding of occupational health hazards and exposure to occupational hygiene monitoring programs (desirable)
  • Effective at influencing and coaching a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong system skills including excel and word
  • Prior experience with health and safety information systems
