  • From $88,589 to $97,787 (HEW 6) p.a. plus 17% super and annual leave loading
  • Fulltime, Continuing
  • Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.

THE ROLE


The Accessibility Support Officer will support the coordination of the IEAP lifecycle and in partnership with faculty and shared services staff, arrange the implementation of support services and reasonable adjustments for students with disability.


Key Accountabilities- Assist in the management of the IEAP lifecycle including onboarding of new students and providing transition support to students completing their study, including providing expert advice to prospective students and stakeholders- Partner with clients (students and staff) to facilitate and implement reasonable adjustments for students with a disability.- Liaise with other Accessibility staff to identify and facilitate disability adjustment requirements of students.- Recruit, induct an coordinate casual staff providing support services to students with a disability (ie: peer notetakers/study support assistants).- Align the required reasonable adjustments for students with disability through consultation with Accessibility staff/Academic staff as outlined in the relevant academic unit guides and ilearn units.- Liaise with professional staff, Faculties, Unit Convenors and students to organise the provision of reasonable adjustments for students with a disability.- Liaise with external agencies to supply the required services for students.- Coordinate within budget the required support staff, space and equipment to implement reasonable adjustments for students with a disability.- Coordinate the progress of the IEAP lifecycle and implement modifications required if individual circumstances change.- Respond to, or appropriately escalate, queries about services and students receiving services from Student Wellbeing.- Contribute to the development, implementation and/or improvements to administrative systems, processes and procedures on support services provided to students with a disability.- Gather data and information on the utilisation of support services and issues relating to wellbeing services.- Maintain and update all student data on relevant systems.- Provide administrative support to Student Wellbeing functions, projects, activities and events.

To Apply- Degree or equivalent experience in Health services or related discipline- Demonstrated experience working with disability, welfare/education or health/social sciences sector.- Knowledge of student accessibility needs and issues.- Knowledge knowledge of the University's policies and processes relating to students with accessibiilty needs.- Extensive experience supporting student wellbeing initiatives.- Experience analysing and reporting on data and business processes.- Ability to build and manage partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
