Research Fellow, Wash - Nathan, Australia - Griffith University
Description
Company Description
The International WaterCentre (IWC) was founded in 2005, with the vision of harnessing the diverse expertise of leading water professionals and academics from Australia and internationally to educate and empower individuals, communities and organisations, to build capacity to respond to water challenges in innovative ways.
Since our inception, we have grown to become a significant actor in the global water sectors and an important feature of the Australian 'water landscape'.
We play a central role in stimulating and brokering relationships between Australian and international academics, researchers and practitioners, to collectively strengthen integrated water management approaches to tackling complex water challenges.
This role in brokering collaborations allows us to lead and participate in teams that are larger than we are, and is central to the high level of our productivity and performance.
IWC is situated within the Australian Rivers Institute (ARI), located at the Nathan campus of Griffith University (GU), Australia.
The Australian Rivers Institute (ARI) was formed in 2006 and is one of Australia's largest university aquatic ecosystem research groups with globally recognised expertise in river, catchment and coastal ecosystems and the interaction with these systems in society.
We undertake research to national and international standards, achieving the highest quality outcomes.
We aggregate research activities, attract external funding exceeding national averages, and actively partner with industry, government, and the broader scientific community to balance humanity's growth whilst maintaining functional ecosystems and associated services.
We support high-quality research training for Higher Degree Research students and provide a supportive and productive research environment, including mentoring for early-career researchers.
The Institute has over 180 staff and postgraduate students across the University's Nathan and Gold Coast campuses and hosts the International Water Centre, Coastal Management Research Centre and the Sustainable Water Future Programme.
