Closing Date: 28/02/2023- Job Type: Permanent - Full Time- Location: West Perth Office- Job Category: EnvironmentalWe are currently seeking a Principal Environmental Advisor to join our team and manage the success of the Environment Department through supporting the business to achieve the required approvals, manage environmental compliance, drive continuous improvement, and understand the operational needs of the organisation.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Develop and manage the Environmental Strategic Plan and initiatives to ensure compliance to company standards and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure compliance reports, rehabilitation activities and the Environmental Management System (EMS) are developed in line with business standards, operational requirements, and legislative frameworks.
  • Ensure adequate resourcing is available, including budget development and management of environmental personnel, to enable the business to achieve environmental approvals and maintain compliance to environmental obligations.
  • Undertake regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support the environmental approvals process, implementation of compliance and rehabilitation activities, and represent ConsMin in an environmental professional capacity at industry forums.
  • Support the operations in achieving the agreed rehabilitation and closure objectives. Deliver the mine closure plan in line with regulatory requirements and communicate the schedule of closure activities approved in the plan

Requirements to be successful in this role are:

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Environmental (or related discipline)
  • Thorough understanding of WA environmental and mining law and approvals pathways
  • Extensive experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to fellow employees
  • Valid and clean 'C' Class Driver's License
