About the Job

Are you looking for a active indoor/ outdoor role? We are seeking a Yardperson to join our friendly, supportive team in Thornton (Newcastle) Branch

The Yardperson will be responsible for loading/unloading of trucks, moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport, moving building assets at our branch.

You will be responsible for ensuring the yard is clean and tidy and following correct safe operating procedures and practices.

As well as the following:

Clean and prepare fleet & equipment ready for hire
Assist with basic maintenance of non high-risk fleet & equipment
Load and unload fleet from vehicles, always ensuring safe loading and unloading procedures are adhered to
Inspect fleet upon return and immediately report any customer fleet damage to your manager to allow costs to be recouped
Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed and submitted
Assist in maintaining effective stock control of assets.

Skills and Experiences:

Skills & Experience:

1- 3 years relevant experience
Good communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
Ability to load and unload equipment from vehicles
Aptitude for hands-on, mechanical / maintenance tasks
Able to work autonomously and be self-motivated with a positive attitude
FL & EWP licence (desirable)
Current driver's licence and white card (desirable)
