About You


As the Procurement Specialist, you will deal with the day-to-day Workday, Source to contract (S2C) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) functional processes, customer and supplier issues whilst using Workday to provide reporting and insights to the broader Procurement Team to help inform decisions.


Reporting to the Procurement Operations and Systems Manager, you will work closely with the Process and Systems team and other cross functional teams with providing analytical support, develop models and reports, perform analysis including providing data-driven insights and opportunity assessments.

To be successful in this position, you will have as a minimum:

  • Proven ability to work with detail, analysing data in an organised and objective matter to determine actions and recommendations based on data insights gathered.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the client facing aspect of the role (inward to the organisation and outward to the vendor community) and a commitment to upholding high levels of customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholder groups and drive positive stakeholder experience while ensuring compliance with processes and policies.
About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.


The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), University Communications (UC), Global Marketing & Student Recruitment (GMSR), Human Resources (HR), Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Property Services Group (PSG) and Procurement.


The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups.

The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe.

Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

Procurement is a small but focused group reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President Resources.

The role of Procurement is to review sourcing and procurement options across the university based on an expenditure on goods and services of ~$500M.


Key issues addressed are:

  • Identifying cost improvement initiatives across the university spend
  • Rationalising supplier base
  • Negotiating and establishing major RMIT group contracts based on combined purchasing power
  • Enabling the procurement process and policies through both systems and controls
  • Using and leveraging group contracts to provide savings
