About the RACGP

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is the peak representative organisation for general practice, the backbone of Australia's health system.

The RACGP delivers the community-based General Practice (GP) Training Program which is the specialist training program to train medical doctors in general practice as a key component of the Department of Health's Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program.

About you

As our, Local Medical Educator, you'll have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with extensive exposure working as a GP in a General Practice environment and have experience or an interest in medical education.


To succeed in the role, you will demonstrate:
experience in general practice performance assessment and education/training development as well as development of educational content for programs.
demonstrated high level of initiative, conceptual and analytical thinking, and high level of attention to detail.
highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
work effectively within a team environment and ability to work independently.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Local Medical Educator - Head of Training you'll work collaboratively with the GP Training Program Management team to achieve the best outcomes for registrars and supervisors ensuring the delivery of a high-quality nationally consistent GP training program.

This role will be based in the Western
NSW RACGP office based in Dubbo
NSW and occasional travel to the Dubbo Office will be required for workshop delivery and other face to face activities.


Some of your responsibilities will include:
workforce planning and recruitment
registrar support
registrar education
training site support
supervisor support and education
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and health training
