As a Substation Electrical Design Team Leader, you'll help find ingenious solutions to interesting problems as you grow your skills every day.

The Team Leaders will play an important role in the next phase of Powerlink's journey as they will develop our people and influence the technical direction of primary systems design services.

Here's how:

You'll be responsible for the supervision and leadership of the Substation Electrical Engineers and Design Drafters to collectively deliver of designs and provide technical advice for Powerlink's regulated network investments, nonregulated connections, exciting transformation projects and decisions associated with operational and asset management matters.
You'll be responsible for resource planning, work allocation, and coordination of both internal and outsourced resources to ensure quality and timely design delivery and successful project outcomes.
You'll work within a complex technical environment and undertake complex problem solving to ensure optimal design outcomes are achieved.

What you'll bring:

Degree level qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in a relevant field or the ability to register would be advantageous
Experience with design, construction and/or maintenance of substations
Proven capability and experience with leadership of a technical team
Experience with associated design standards, specifications and policies

Ideally, we'd love you to have:

- spent a considerable part of your career in the High Voltage electrical infrastructure design or similar environment, and can demonstrate a thorough and broad understanding of the engineering and project delivery principles in the energy industry.
- established and led successful technical teams in a complex technical environment in a previous role and are a measured, influential and emotionally intelligent leader with an ability to support and grow a diverse team.
