How will I Help?


Contributing directly to Consumer and Business Bank (CBB) division's vision and strategy, you will be responsible for the delivery of capability requirements for bankers and leaders.

Our CBB Institute is a market leading internal business school for growing banker capability which has been in place for over 4 years.

The Institute engages in capability development using traditional training curriculums, lecture theatre learning, continuous professional development and accreditations, secondments and mentoring, and nurturing career pathways.


Engaging with executive stakeholders to understand the key capability gaps and opportunities across CBB, you will work to align the divisional business and people strategy and objectives.

You will work with a team of 45 highly capable professionals to execute and deliver on the strategy, developing a strategic roadmap to lift capability, through phased deployment.

You will manage relationships with external education service providers and work with front line leaders to build a culture where we all value and invest in learning & development.

In addition, you will be accountable for delivering on the agreed success metrics including adoption and business outcomes.

What do I need?


To find success in this role, you will need to demonstrate a deep passion for growing and developing our people.


In addition, you will need:
- strong commercial acumen, delivering measurable development outcomes to a business;
- proven ability to successfully lead a team of learning and organisational development professionals;
- ability to think and act strategically;
- ability to engage and influence key stakeholders;
- preferably a deep understanding of consumer and/or business banking;
- proven experience in designing and executing sophisticated and innovative learning experiences in a corporate environment;
- you will be guiding major programs of work in a complex environment as so strong project management experience is necessary;
- minimum tertiary qualification in a business or management related discipline;
- you will be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills.
