Compassionate Support Worker - Enhance Lives of the NDIS community.

Position:
Support Worker - Community Access


Location:
Denham Court, Western Sydney


Employment Type:
Part-time with the ability to increase hours


Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate community access and engagement for disabled participants, enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
  • Provide oneonone support to participants, promoting their safety, wellbeing, and overall quality of life.
  • Assist participants in developing life skills, fostering social connections, and accessing community resources.
  • Implement individualised support plans, tailoring assistance to meet the unique needs and goals of each participant.
  • Encourage and empower participants to pursue their interests, hobbies, and personal development opportunities.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, promoting independence, selfadvocacy, and community integration.
  • Document participant progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with organisational guidelines.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential. We welcome individuals with a genuine passion for working with the disabled community and a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with participants, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing personcentered care, understanding and respecting the unique needs and abilities of each participant.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and participant requirements, while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a cohesive and supportive work environment.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred, as occasional transportation support may be required.
