Your day as an Associate Director, Financial Management Legislation
Your typical day-to-day work includes a mixture of leading:

  • Systems and processes that ensure the regulations, policies, frameworks and guidance remain up to date and fit for purpose
  • Engagement with stakeholders and the NSW public sector to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, capability building and to ensure effective consultation on the teams work program
  • Projects to create frameworks, policies, guidance and tools that make financial management legislation in NSW public sector easy to understand and practical to apply.
During the 12 months, the role will be responsible for leading progress on some key projects and initiatives, including:

  • A post-implementation review of the _Government Sector Finance Act 2018 _(GSF Act)
- working with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia to evaluate whether the GSF Act is achieving its objectives, make recommendations for improvement and commence delivering those improvements.

  • Creating a framework to guide the creation, management and closure of statutory Special Deposit Accounts in the NSW public sector statutory Special Deposit Accounts are a mechanism to prioritise significant amounts of government resources to achieve specific purposes and this framework would ensure those accounts are effective, transparency and accountable.
