Liberty Oil Australia (Part of Viva Energy Australia) have a proud history of truly independent fuel retail and distribution in Australia.

We operate a regional network of fuel depots and distribute over a billion litres of fuel a year, making Liberty one of the largest wholesalers operating right across Australia.

About the role


Recent new business acquisitions have created an opportunity to join Liberty Oil Australia in a role that will primarily focus on supporting operational fuel storage site projects and network servicing as well as providing assistance with proactive maintenance, compliance coordination and initiatives to monitor and improve asset operational experience and reliability.

In this role you will;

  • Working with contractors to coordinate project progress and maintenance execution
  • Working to ensure safe & compliant ways of working
  • Assisting with troubleshooting planned/active fuel transfer systems, tank gauging systems, outdoor payment terminal systems, CCTV, site water separator & treatment systems
  • Working with internal stakeholders to prioritise work and input in business case development
  • Input and improvements to proactive and reactive inspection and repair systems
  • Maintaining drawing and procedures allied with new depot developments and upgrades

Skills and Experience
You will be a team player with a focus on safety, planning and execution excellence. You will have excellent organisation and communication skills and be experienced in collaborating across a range of stakeholders.

Success in this role will be underpinned by your;

  • Engineering or Technical Trade background (i.e. mechanical engineering background)
  • Will have worked with equipment or are familiar with fuel handling facilities (ideally including familiarity with troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs)
  • Working with 3rd party contractors on the ground as well as and contract management
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours occasionally
  • Experience with work permits, lock out tag out, isolations and gas testing
  • Technical acumen including ability to interpret drawings for use in the field
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership
  • Competence in data management
  • Experience in delivering operational excellence and continuous improvement opportunities
