About the Business Unit

Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).

VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system.

The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) is a landmark reform that will replace the Courts based Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) with an administrative scheme that prioritises the needs of victims and supports their recovery from violent crime.

About the Role

The Project Officer will provide project and administrative support as part of the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) Reform project management office.

This role will suit an organised thinker who understands project management controls, enjoys a fast-paced project and managing multiple priorities.

In addition, you will play a key role in working with the Senior Project Manager in supporting administratively the onboarding of the first tranche of FAS organisational roles - a new organisation being established to run the Scheme.

This role provides a great opportunity to be at the forefront of a major reform project establishing a new service and workforce in the department.

This role will suit a resilient and resourceful individual looking for an opportunity to stretch in developing project management experience on a reform project.

You will have excellent writing and interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with others.

About you

  • Excellent understanding and experience in project management tools and controls such as project plans, schedules, risk management, project monitoring and reporting.
  • Ability to juggle priorities using good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills with an ability to produce high quality minutes, actions and communications to project team members.
  • Ability to build productive and effective relationships to achieve outcomes.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Victorian Government administrative processes is desirable.
  • Knowledge of victims of crime issues and the criminal justice system is highly desirable.

Qualifications:


  • A relevant tertiary qualification in project management or business, or equivalent experience is desirable.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:


The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic).

Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.


At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.


Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal.

This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).


Acceptable evidence includes:

COVID-19 digital certificate(available via your myGov account)

Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
