We recognise that the success of our business and our clients relies on the skills, knowledge and ideas of all our people. Our environment is one in which high performance is expected, in return, we will provide you with rewards and opportunities tailored to your personal and professional goals.
The Opportunity
We have opportunities for experienced lawyers with an expertise in Cyber Security and Data Governance to join our growing Corporate team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
In this role you will work closely with Partner Cameron Whittfield and other leading Partners and senior lawyers across our national group.
Cameron has over 25 years' experience working extensively for clients in Australia and internationally on technology-related legal issues. Cameron specialises in cyber / information security (and incident response), emerging technologies (including blockchain and AI solutions) and technology transactions.

Your day could typically involve:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
The team:
We have one of the largest TMT practices in Australia, bringing together lawyers who advise on matters relating to telecommunications, technology, commercial intellectual property, outsourcing, media and broadcasting, privacy, e-commerce and transitional services. The team also advises on related M&A matters. Our experience and advice spans TMT in its widest sense.
Working closely with our telco team, we have a leading cyber, privacy and data protection practice, advising on all aspects of privacy law, information regulation, regulatory compliance matters, data breaches, cyber security, information security, subject access requests, employee monitoring and surveillance, data retention, and compliance with international data protection requirements.
Data protection and privacy: we work on many transactions involving the transfer, sharing, mining and analysis of a wide variety of data sources, which inevitably introduces complex data protection issues, from compliance with privacy law to the consideration of multi-jurisdictional data protection requirements. We help clients manage risk appropriately in any endeavours involving the commercialisation of data and acting in compliance with the relevant data protection laws.
Cyber and Data Security: full life cycle support: our global and highly experienced, cross-practice team advises on cyber and data security issues wherever they may arise, and simultaneously across multiple jurisdictions where an incident requires it.
Our TMT team has been growing year-on-year. We are now a national team of 6 partners and we continue to grow at all levels.
What you can expect from us:
We encourage applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to First Nations, LGBTIQA+ and neurodivergent individuals, as well as individuals of all ages, cultures, genders and abilities. We're a safe, inclusive and equitable workplace and celebrate the diversity of our people.
