Intelligence Officer (3 roles)

  • Challenging and engaging role
  • Emergency management experience and/or data analysis and visualisation skills desirable
  • VPSG 3, Fulltime Fixed Term until 30 June 2023 (Shift work role)


EMV has an opportunity for a qualified, capable entry level professional to join a team of intelligence analysts and provide support to the gathering and analysing of data to inform intelligence products which contribute to the effective management of emergencies.

Reporting to the Lead Intelligence Officer and working closely with the broader EMV and emergency sector teams, the Intelligence Officer will utilise a range of skills and tools to provide support and analysis in the identification of risks, challenges and threats within the emergency sector.


Key accountabilities include:


  • Contribute to the collection, processing and analysis of data and information.
  • Provide support to the development of written and verbal intelligence reporting which inform and support tactical, operational and strategic decision making.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the operational functions of the Intelligence Team and SCC are in accordance with requirements and are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.


This role will operate on a 24 x 7 shift basis and require you to work outside normal business hours and on weekends as needed.

To be successful you will need to be able to think logically and objectively and have the strength of character to work with integrity and commitment.

An aptitude for intelligence and analyst activities including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessment utilising a range of information and technologies within a sensitive and confidential environment will be advantageous.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:


The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic).

Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses


Early Retirement Scheme:
A re-employment restriction of one year applies to all recipients of an Early Retirement Scheme package from the VPS.
