Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for a General Manager - Outcomes (Operations) to join our team in Gippsland on a 2 Year fixed term basis.

The position has become available due to the current incumbent undertaking a secondment within our Transformation Team.


You will support transition from traditional models of funding to the NDIS and ensure the subsequent growth of a wide range of individualised supports and services across the region, optimising overall performance of the services to ensure the continued success of Melba in supporting people to live fantastic lives of their choosing.

Our Gippsland region encompasses Bass Coast, West Gippsland, Latrobe Valley, South Gippsland, Wellington and East Gippsland LGA's.


Responsibilities include:


  • Lead, communicate and promote the Melba Vision, Values, Purpose and Strategic Plan
  • Develop and execute the Regional Business Plan aligned with the Melba Strategic Plan
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative and harmonious team, fostering a culture of high performance across the region
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all requirements of the quality and safeguard frameworks pertinent to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and disability services under the Disability Act 2006 (Vic)
  • Work collaboratively with the Regional Outcomes and Practice, Quality and Safeguards teams to embed best practice personcentred support across all services
  • Assess, document and strategically respond to risks arising from strategy, business development, individualised support, OHS&W and workforce management
  • Develop positive relationships with our local communities, attend industry and local community events and identify gaps in our regional support offerings
  • Prepare, manage and ensure performance within annual budgets

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within the disability support sector is essential
  • Detailed understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and disability services under the Disability Act 2006 (Vic)
  • Experience in leading and inspiring a large team and building a high performing culture (280 indirect reports)
  • Able to work collaboratively across our organisation to meet our collective objectives
  • A strong desire to connect with our local communities and to represent and promote Melba's Services
  • Strategic management ability including the ability to operationalise our strategic objectives
  • Able to engage with our transformation team to support the implementation of new initiatives, systems and processes
