Role:

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.

Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.


Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.


An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.

Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.


Responsibilities:


Human Resource Administration

  • Support recruitment processes
  • Coordinate new staff induction
  • Ensure OHS and ChildSafe compliance
  • Organise First Aid training
  • Coordinate casual staff, contractors and volunteers ensuring applicable procedures are followed
  • Liaise with John Monash Science School in regard to staff administration such as leave and recruitment processes
  • Liaise with school staff in regard to support requirements
  • Assist with the maintenance and implementation of OHS policies

Program Booking and Facility Management

  • Ensure booked programs are ready to be delivered to our partner schools
  • Book external visitors (during and after school hours)
  • Book corporate training events, study tours and outreach programs
  • Book venues, parking, and security for events held at the university
  • Attend to building maintenance issues
  • In liaison with the Product and Project Manager, manage and record Tech School assets
  • If necessary, be prepared to assist and maintain client reception

Bus Transport

  • Coordination of transport bookings for partner schools (manage booking system)
  • Transport contract management maintain communication and good working relationship with bus provider

Finance

  • Prepare and maintain budgets in liaison with the Director
  • Liaise with suppliers and process purchase orders
  • Track expenditure
  • Reconcile expenditure reports and prepare brief financial reports for the Director and Administrator (John Monash Science School)

Evaluation

  • On request, present written advice (project briefs, reports) to the Director and Monash Tech School Steering Committee
  • Contribute to the evaluation, marketing and promotional materials and strategies of the school (newsletters, Tech Schools evaluation)
  • Prepare agenda items for Monash Tech School meetings, attend meetings, take minutes and distribute invitations/documentation in consultation with the Director
