About the role


If you are a highly motivated leader who enjoys working as part of a busy and dynamic environment, then this is the job for you This role will involve leading a team of community specialists who deliver high quality community services in partnership with key stakeholders in the not-for-profit and public sectors.

You will also have overall responsibility in conjunction with other Council business units for delivering on key Council strategies including:


  • Reconciliation Action Plan (currently being reviewed for progress to Innovate RAP)
  • Disability Inclusion Action Plan
  • Age Friendly Communities Strategy
  • Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan

You can also expect to:

  • Develop constructive relationships and work with community organisations and agencies to undertake needs analysis and identify gaps and opportunities to improve local community service delivery.
  • Collaborate with community partners to deliver appropriate programs for culturally and linguistically diverse communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Work with community groups and notforprofit organisations to expand their reach to isolated community members.
  • Ensure the team works collaboratively with organisations and groups to deliver key educational and awareness days throughout the year, notably Seniors, Reconciliation, NAIDOC and Disability Awareness Weeks, and Council's 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence program.
  • Identify opportunities for improved community services to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

About you

We are looking for a someone who demonstrates:

  • Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Current Drivers Licence Class C
  • Current First Aid certificate.

Salary range:
$112,026.83 to $125,470.11 per year plus 11% superannuation
