About the role


The Regional Manager Clinical Services Residential Aged Care reports to the VMCH Nurse Clinical Manager and is responsible for providing leadership, education and development to ensure the highest quality of clinical services to our residents whilst also reflecting the mission, vision and values of VMCH.

This role will oversee a designated region's day-to-day clinical operation within Residential Aged Care as well as the development and delivery of continuous Improvement projects that drive contemporary and best practice clinical service provision.

The role will provide support, coaching and leadership for clinical staff across at least 50% of the Residential Aged Care sites.


This role will also support the General Manager of Aged Care to ensure the exemplary delivery of all hospitality services for responsible sites.

Working as part of a friendly and close-knit team, some areas of focus not limited to as follows will be to: (see position description for detailed role accountabilities)


Actively work with the VMCH Quality and Clinical Excellence team in relation to being a key contact for responsible sites for internal auditing, accreditation, occupational health and safety and compliance matters as they relate to resident care and clinical services.

Maintain relevant knowledge and skills through attendance at seminars and participation in the staff development program.
Support General Manager Residential Services to perform ongoing recruitment, induction and training of clinical staff across relevant sites to effectively utilise, service and manage the workforce
Appropriately manage performance of nurses including coaching, support, regular informal and formal performance feedback and reviews

Skills & experience

A bachelor's degree in nursing (or equivalent) with current AHPRA registration
3+ years' experience management experience in Aged Care Sector
Detailed clinical knowledge relevant to Aged Care Service delivery, and the relevant national and state governments' policies and funding models
Demonstrated awareness of risks associated with providing Aged Care Services
Ability to lead, direct and work as part of a management team.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, staff and volunteers.
Strong conceptual, strategic thinking, analytical skills, well-developed organisational skills to meet deadlines and effective collaboration with key stakeholders.

Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equal employment opportunity and workplace health and safety appropriate to the level of the appointment.

Capacity to work collaboratively and integrate with other business partners in shared goals, objectives.
Victorian driver's license
Further education relevant to nursing and or residential aged care. (Desirable)
Relevant experience working in NFP environment with the aged, disabled, special education or health sector. (Desirable)
