2 year contract with possible 12 month extension.

Primary responsibilities:

Perform sample preparation, particularly for claycontaining samples, and conducting Xray diffraction (XRD) data collection.
Collaborate closely with team members to deliver exceptional research and characterisation consulting services to both internal and external stakeholders.
Under limited supervision follow safe work practices when handling chemicals, hazardous materials, and scientific equipment.
Adapt experimental methods and equipment to support ongoing research;
Allocate activities and manage resources to meet team objectives; maintain laboratory consumables and provide instruction in equipment use.

Essential Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience in Chemistry, Minerals/Minerals Processing, Geology/Geochemistry, or Materials Science/Engineering.
Demonstrated experience in safe sample, material, and chemical handling, sample preparation, and the safe use of analytical instrumentation in research, academic, or commercial environments.
Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within project teams.
High level communication skills with ability to monitor client satisfaction.
Willing and able to pass national police check.
Experience in Xray diffraction (XRD) sample preparation and data collection highly desirable.
