    About Us

    Join Library and Knowledge Services and be part of a team that is fundamental to supporting the success of the academic community in their learning, teaching and research. Our team provides a friendly, engaging and professional service, focused collections, training and assistance in the location and use of information resources and an environment conducive to study.

    The remit of Research & Digital Services is to lead the advancement and delivery of excellent Library research support services, including the provision of research data management services, researcher skill development and the Research Portal of academic staff profiles and open access research outputs. In addition they co-ordinate and manage the library's communications and promotion, digital systems and platforms to ensure effective communication, content development and interactive resources are crafted for the library website and other platforms.

    The Role

    As the manager of Research & Digital Services you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the operation and development of the library's research and digital services and systems. Leading a dedicated team, you will ensure these services and systems are aligned with the learning, teaching and research needs of the university. You will collaborate with key stakeholders in Research & Innovation, IT services and vendors to ensure support for new services and innovative technologies that are fit for purpose and deliver excellent client experience.

    As a vital member of the library leadership team, you will be making a substantial contribution to the development of plans and policies, representing the University as needed. In particular leading strategic planning for library services and systems infrastructure, developing and supporting staff and overseeing operational priorities and budgets. You will play a crucial role in leading and participating in projects both within and outside the library.

    What you'll bring to this role

    • Relevant qualification and/ or extensive relevant experience to gain eligibility for Associate Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a digital and or research service environment.
    • Ability to manage resources and budgets.
    • Written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to think creatively and strategically in planning, policy and management.
