We currently have a new opportunity as a Construction IWT Manager within our Maritime Australia based in Adelaide (Osborne Shipyard).

Your new role:


The Construction IWT Manager will be accountable for the management of an Integrated Work Team (IWT) as well as the successful delivery of construction activities assigned.


Reporting to the Construction Manager you will:

  • Work with Weld Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering team to manufacture the Hunter Class Frigate ship in line with the welding strategy.
  • Work with Dimension Control to manufacture the Hunter Class Frigate ship in line with the DC strategy.
  • Collaborate with Performance Reporting team and Planning team to manage trade performance norms.
  • Deal with Trade Managers to ensure trade team members are supported and managed in line with trade training and production strategies.
  • Manage key Risk and Opportunities for steelwork and execute mitigation plans for area of control.
  • Ensure the workshop is "visitor ready" at all times.
  • Provide feedback to build strategy and propose any changes for improvement.
  • Actively manage employees on a day to day basis and formally through the PDR process.
  • Support the development, coaching and mentoring of apprentices.
  • Communicate objectives to production teams to increase awareness and support program and business initiatives.
  • Assist Trade Manager with identifying and supporting team members with staff development and mentoring for future work opportunities.
  • Achieve cost and schedules in line with construction budgets.
  • Manage continuous improvement strategies.

About you:


As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience within an Engineering discipline with experience in the Technical Development and engineering projects
  • Extensive experience in managing key stakeholders and delivery safety
  • Knowledge in project management is desirable
  • Experience in working in multidisciplined engineering environments where you have developed strong technical and leadership knowledge skills
  • Good understanding of operations and production practices and Engineering methods as applied to all quality standards and processes.

Clearances:


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
