- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trendsin data engineering, and evaluate their potential impact on ourdata architecture and processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to juniormembers of the team, fostering a culture of collaboration andcontinuous learning.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organization tounderstand business needs and translate them into actionabledata solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives todrive operational excellence and improve businessoutcomes.
- Architect and implement data strategies that leverageexisting data and prepare future data for predictive andprescriptive modeling.

- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science,Management Information Systems or a related field.
- National Police Clearance.
- Proven extensive experience in designing, building, andmaintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in data manipulation languages such as Pythonand SQL, with a strong emphasis on data processing andmanipulation.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop,Spark, Kafka, and related ecosystem tools.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, datawarehousing concepts, and SQL querying.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure,or GCP, and familiarity with their data services.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices,including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with theability to translate business requirements into technicalsolutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with theability to interact effectively with both technical andnon-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work in afast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience in engagement, consultation andrequirements gathering with a wide range stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Data Technologies such asSQL Server, SSIS, Fabric, Data Factory, etc.
- Previous experience with ERP systems such as Oracle,Technology One, Microsoft Dynamics.

About the role andyou
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, anddeploying Port's data architecture including datapreparation, data modelling and data delivery leveraging modern andcontemporary platforms and approaches. Working closely withstakeholders you will develop an understanding of the data sourcesavailable to the Port, leverage data governance principles, andcreate data warehouses for a wide range of stakeholder decisionmaking.
Your ability to transform diverse and voluminous data sets intodata warehouses that ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity, andAvailability of data for decision making is crucial for excellingin this position. A key success factor is the ability to translatebusiness needs into easily understandable data sets.
