Kindergarten Educator 2023:

The Little Yarra Steiner School is a K to 12 school in the Yarra Valley. The school is seeking an experienced Educator to support our Lead Teacher in delivering the Kindergarten program.

The Kindergarten Educator is expected to have a compassionate and caring disposition with a calm nature.

The Kindergarten Educator is required to be reliable and maintain orderliness in their tasks in the care of the Kindergarten.

They are flexible and adaptive in order to work in an environment with young children and act with integrity as a role model worthy of imitation.


As a staff member, they are expected to be professional and enthusiastic about their work, demonstrate a willingness to engage in personal and professional development and be able to work collegially as part of a team.

The Kindergarten Educator is expected to work with the school's ethos, policies and procedures in close cooperation with their colleagues and to develop positive and professional relationships with parents and staff.


Key Selection Criteria:


  • An Anthroposophical understanding of child development and commitment to deepening an understanding and practice of Anthroposophy
  • Thorough understanding and experience of Preschool child development
  • Ability to support the Lead Teacher in the delivery of the program and assist in establishing and maintaining rhythms throughout the day and seasons.
  • Proven ability to nurture and maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and colleagues
  • Exemplary interpersonal communication skills and rapport with children
  • Appropriate qualifications and current WWCC
  • Training or substantial experience in Steiner Education
This position is three days per week and commences 9th October 2023. A Position Description is available on request.

Remuneration is in accordance with the appropriate category in the scale of the Educational Services (General Staff) Award 2020 and inclusive of any above award payments being generally applied at the school.
