About us
Queensland Hydro is a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state's energy system.
The role
The Contracts Manager will play a critical role in our ability to achieve our project objectives by establishing and fostering strong relationships with industry including contractors and suppliers.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and negotiating major infrastructure delivery contracts, leading and managing a team responsible for the management of variations to these contracts as well as contract close-out, extension and renewal.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead industry engagement for Queensland Hydro, establishing and fostering strong relationships
- Lead tender assessment processes for major infrastructure delivery contracts
- Support the Commercial Manager and Project Directors including the provision of advice, where required.
- Develop major infrastructure delivery contracts based on project requirements, estimates, budgets and timeframes.
- Lead and manage a team responsible for the contract aspects of projects, including claims/variations closeout, extension and renewal, to support project delivery
- Partner with internal legal teams to provide contractrelated issue resolution
- Ensure Queensland Hydro's internal contract documents are accurate, maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure that the Queensland Hydro's internal and external stakeholders are up to date with the status of contracts.
About you
To be considered for this position you will ideally possess:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Law, or Finance
- Minimum of ten years of experience in Contracts Management with a significant proportion of this as the Assetowner delivering major infrastructure projects
- Sound knowledge of contract principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder relationship building and management skills, with a mindset of achieving collaborative winwin outcomes.
- A sound understanding of infrastructure project delivery requirements.
- Strong numeracy and financial skills.
- Sound financial and commercial knowledge and experience
