About the role


The position of Health and Safety System and Project Specialist will assist in developing, executing and maintaining the Health and Safety system, strategic plans and programs to support the Health and Safety Strategic Framework and improve HSE performance across the SGSPAA Group.


This is to be achieved through proactive engagement with stakeholders, use of project methodology, designing fit for purpose deliverables using contemporary best practices to support the continuous improvement of the Health and Safety Management System.


Key Responsibilities include

  • Collaborate with identified key stakeholders to define, develop and implement improvement initiatives, project and programs.
  • Identify and anticipate the needs of stakeholders when delivering key strategic projects and initiatives and commit to the continuous improvement Health & Safety management system.
  • Contribute towards the improvement of Health and Safety performance through the identification, prioritisation and sequencing of proposed continuous improvement deliverables.
  • Lead the identification, development and delivery of HSE based improvement initiatives as related to HSEQ management system.
  • Actively ensure HSE systems and processes are fit for purpose, continuously improved and appropriately applied.
  • Maintain, review and improve internal HSE documentation, incorporating ISO 9001 & 14001 and AS/NZS 45001 standards to ensure compliance to legislation, ISO and AS/NZ standards.
  • Successfully implement and deliver agreed strategic projects and initiatives to support continual improvement of HSE systems and processes inclusive of considered stakeholder engagement, communications and change management.
  • Lead and deliver projects and improvement initiatives within own area with consideration to scope development and control, budget control, scheduling.
  • Application of sound Change Management as it relates to all relevant HSE projects, initiatives and systems alterations etc.

About You

  • Qualifications in Project Management and Change Management methodologies.
  • Qualification in OHS/WHS (preferred).
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Australian HSE legislative frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience in the design, delivery and implementation of H&S strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrable planning, project and organisational culture change management skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing, implementing and maintained HSE management systems.
  • HSE Management Systems & Certification Knowledge.
  • Experience with MS Office 365 and SharePoint.
