Resourceful Recruitment are partnered with an exciting metallurgical coal miner with a portfolio of operations and growth projects in the pipeline.

Reporting to the Head of Accounting, the Finance Superintendent will partner with the operation teams across the operating sites of the business.

This position contributes to the Company's goals by establishing and managing processes for financial control and administration.

This includes development of the mine accountants to better partner with the Operations teams to better understand costs and drivers of the business to improve business performance.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the end of month financial tasks to achieve a timely P&L submission including reporting and variance commentary
  • Provide timely and insightful reporting and analysis in relation to the business
  • Facilitator and key contributor of the quarterly rolling 18month forecast, including provision of models and analyses, management of timelines, templates and labour model.
  • Responsible for continual assessment and improvement of direct spending, balance sheet risk/ opportunity and profitability
  • Manage and report on capital projects approval and spending, ensuring rigorous, consistent capital expenditure processes are applied
  • Maintain financial integrity of all accounting records (including the preparation of all GL entries with strict control over capital and operating expenditures)
  • Ensure the completion and submission of Statutory, Government and Industry requested statistical data
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and leadership to Mine Accountants

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining industry
  • CPA or other relevant financial certification is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
