Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.


About the Role:


We are looking for an experienced Advisor Government Approvals to join the team at Rio Tinto based in Central Park.

This position will be based in working a Monday to Friday roster on an initial 9 month contract.
Key


Responsibilities:

Preparation and submission of RIWI Act and Mining Act Approvals, consisting of 26D, Bed and Banks permits

Preparation and submission of EP Act approvals, consisting of Part V Division 3 approvals (Works approvals and licences) and Part V Division 2 approvals (Native Vegetation Clearing Permits).

Provide advice and guidance on approval matters and review and authorise internal approvals where required.
Record keeping and data management.

Skills & Experience Required

Environmental Science Degree (or related discipline )
2 years' experience in mining, environmental consulting, or a related field (required)
Competent in Microsoft Office suite (required)
Competent in Arc GIS (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to learn, use and follow internal systems, guidance, and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and work on complex tasks Demonstrated ability work autonomously.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise work tasks Demonstrated time management skills and proven ability to work within specified timeframes and deadlines
